⏰ 5pm - 8pm
This 3 1/2 Hour session is a group class with 6 participant slots available. This workshop covers an introduction to training your dog to hunt for deer shed antlers in various environments. This workshop will also get you ready for competitions and trials for this sport.
We will dive deep into your dog’s senses with search pattern games, scent discrimination, retrieval or indication behaviours and special buried or elevated hides.
Size doesn’t matter! - any dog can learn to scent the antler out; some dogs may be able to retrieve while others may bark to alert you of the antler.
Upon finishing the workshop, your dog will have a steady base to continue training finding shed antlers - and you will have a new activity to work their brains in a way they haven’t before.
In the on-leash session - dogs are kept separate from each other and placed on long leashes to prevent run aways or interactions with other dogs.
Is my dog ready for this on leash workshop?
The on-leash workshop allows owners with dogs not trained off leash to participate in a normally off leash sport, while also keeping dog to dog contact to a minimum.
If your dog frequently barks or lunges at other dogs and would be unable to focus in a group environment, a private lesson or observation spot may be a better choice.

This session is designed for dogs that are already able to have control off leash, and will do the assigned job without much distraction from other dogs or smells
